The timing of shutting down the Clinton Global Initiative

If the Clinton Global Initiative is indeed participating in pay to play activities, does it not make sense that they shut down while President Obama can still pardon them?

If they continue to operate after President Obama leaves office, they could be subject to prosecution, right? President Obama cannot pardon them for activities that occur after he leaves office.

I'm not saying that this is why they shut it down now, but the timing certainly is interesting...

I get that. But it's funny that they shut it down a few days before President Obama's ability to pardon them expired.

I think it's a signal that a pardon may be happening.

I'd expect more likely they already have another foundation under a different name set up, rather than a pardon coming but that's just me.

If they aren't making transactions then there is nothing nefarious.

Pardon incoming

Up until 1/20/17

No transactions since 1/19/17

He can pardon them for crimes that they have not been charged with before he leaves office. He could say that they are pardoned of all crimes that occurred between date x to date x.

I watched Hillary run for office in 2016, and yet CGI still shut down?

I heard on FOX yesterday that the irony of the shutdown of CGI is the fact that it officially shuts down April 15th.

He may use the "Russians" as his supposed motive for the pardon
