I for one am totally shocked that the wind turbines don't work whenever their internal parts freeze up. What a completely unavoidable and unforeseeable situation.

Sorry, But designing for arctic conditions in south Texas is neither economic, nor smart. No industry does it. I wonder how much of the O&G production is off due to the cold...

Most can burn both. I've seen stations in Kentucky where CT units had big diesel tanks in case natural gas got shut down.

Aircraft have deicing capabilities for their propellers, heat, boots, etc. Why can’t the airfoils on wind turbines have those same capabilities?

I know little about multi fuel gens, but I wasn’t throwing out a hypothetical issue. the NG generation loss due to supply was 8.5x more GW than wind turbine freezing yesterday.

It can be where it’s something that gets used more than once every 50 years. North Sea, off shore units use the shite out of it. West Texas, probably just doesn’t money out and it’s a super competitive market with thin margins.
