On Carlson's interview post on X, the views metric displayed 236 million views, as of the time of publishing, since it went live 21 hours ago.

However, the metric on X is not how many views Carlson's video actually received.

Mashable can report that, as of the publication of this article on Thursday evening, Carlson's Trump interview has received 14.8 million video views on X.

On X, it's not entirely clear to most users what the views metric refers to — many people believe, falsely, that the video of Carlson's Trump interview received 220 million views more than it actually received.

And that's with almost a full 24 hrs to work with

And do traditional ratings assume you can watch something for only 2 seconds?

You’re a microcosm. Your cronies have been lying about the view count of the interview.

That clip did in fact got that many views. I’m lying because of a metric on a tweet that I have no control over?

Again, why does this matter?

That's a lot. The benefit of Twitter vs cable. Fewer people care enough to record a TV debate so it's mostly one and done. The Internet lets it run in perpetuity.

So 15 million people wanted to watch Trump and 13 million wanted to watch however many other candidates battle for second place. Seems about right.
