Nice. Did you just dig that out of your Econ 101 textbook?

Nope, as a person who recognizes everyday life. When you go the supermarket, you are giving profit to someone.

No it's not. Profit is the result between the cost of providing a good or service and the difference between what you sell it for. Mutually beneficial exchange is not profit.

If you get more for something than it costs you that is profit.

Canadians live longer than us on average because of two factors: fatal car accidents and fatal gunshots. Because we have more of those in the US than Canada does, it skews our numbers downward. Remove those two things, which really are irrelevant indicators of how good our healthcare system is, and we live longer on average than Canadians.

You are absolutely correct. Doctors, nurses, massage therapists and other health care workers should be required to take vows of poverty and live off of the charity of others.

This site doesn't allow Cyrillic so here it is phonetically in Latin letters.

"Nikto ne zabotitsya Ral'f Viggam, zakryl yebesh!"

I edited above. My first version was just "shut up!" I enhanced it to the entire phrase you wanted.

Have to disagree here. With anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of our gunshot fatalities being suicides I have to think that a portion of gunshot fatalities stand as a pretty good indicator of the poor state of mental health care in this country. While I do believe that the truly suicidal will find a way to off themselves, the ease of access to a gun can turn a rough night for a depressed/suicidal individual into a final night too easily. If you could wave a wand and remove guns from the hands of the mentally ill I think our overall fatality rate would decrease as the loss of the simplest/most efficient method of suicide would deter many of those who were not 100 % determined to end it.

I'm not advocating gun control as a result of this, I am however advocating better mental health care though. Too many stigmas and too many ways for people to slip through the cracks in our care and become just another statistic.
