granny voted straight democrat local, state and federal from the time she could vote (40s) until she died about 10 years ago
the rebranding the democrats have done is so dishonest. strom Thurmond, George Wallace...these changes of heart were so convenient. strom Thurmond was still a senator when he died...for the democrats. he didn't change his mind on anything to do with policy just changed his mind on black people.

I agree with this. All of my grandparents were Dixiecrats. They were poor Southerners that thought the Republican party was only for the rich.
