So you admit there wasn't shite that he could have done, yet fault him for not canceling his schedule to sit on his hands and do nothing.
If Obama had stepped into a phone booth and emerged in tights and cape, flown over to Ukraine in time to intercept the missile, and saved the jetliner....SOMEONE would have complained that he interfered with international affairs.
Look, Obama is a dishonest, disingenuous a-hole (not different than other POTUSes). But, this incessant "EVERYTHING he does (or doesn't do) is the most awful ever" is silliness

You have a point. Why bother with getting facts or addressing the issue when he could have given another rousing speech blaming Republicans for all the world's ills and basking in the glory of his rhetoric.
That is way better than hanging around the White House gathering information, monitoring the situation, consulting with allies, meeting with experts and/or formulation a response or course of action. That is boring shite.
But standing before a crowd, hearing the band play, "Hail to the Chief", listening to the roar of the crowd as they hang on to every word while departing with serious money is what being President is all about.

Not fundraise. Maybe try and address some of America's other problems many of which he caused or exacerbated while he's waiting on intelligence?

Again you are right.
The proper place for the President of the United States was noshing with rich people asking for money.
Oh dopey me!
Another crisis, another fund raiser.

Sometimes it isn't what a president does, but what he doesn't do. And as the American president, world leaders observe what's being done or not done, mannerisms, patterns, words etc. to see how the president responds. And if the president appears preoccupied or uninterested, some take this as a cue to test the waters further.
