Really? I can only think of Maher, who called himself a libertarian. Anyone else improperly called that by outside observers?
About half of this board that calls themselves libertarian as well. The libertarian stance has been so watered down in the last two years that it barely resembles what it once was.
For instance, you have people that claim to be libertarian because they are fiscally conservative and "socially liberal"...code words for not religious. Yet, these same people are all about bombing "terrorists" and are against legalization of drugs.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have libertarians that do not believe in government in any form whatsoever.
The logical gaps are Grand Canyon like in differences of philosphy and opinion on major issues.
Point being, libertarianism is so many different things to so many different people that it is akin to cerebral palsy in the medical world. It is a waste-basket term with no real meaning anymore.
