Do you realize how many people make a living in the entertainment industry? Do you know what goes into making a movie, tv show, album, etc?

No, because I haven't tried those things or observed documentation or documentaries of others conducting those activities. For the common man or middle class, do you realize what goes into engineering and medical work, i.e. things that society is reliant upon that actually benefit us? Yeah, entertainment is nice, but we don't need to see those people or get it from them. There are countless legal ways to have fun. Listening to celebrities' music and watching their films are just popular options, but some would rather spend time with friends outdoors, at the mall, playing video games, etc.

Do you ever add anything of value to this board?

I get it that you try to be noble and shite with your worldly educated views, but pretty much everything you post is basically an insult to another poster.

You've honestly never seen a "behind the scenes" or "making of" featurette?

I never have. Though, I am certainly 'aware' of the large number of Jobbers, Caterers, and Crew folks involved in these things. And, like most businesses, I am aware that they purchase 'office product' and other needed goods and services used by other companies in the course of business.

But, I have never seen a "making of" type feature

You should check out the special features on some blurays. Not the strictly green screen type movies, but ones they blow up real shite. The "how they flipped the semi" in the dark knight was awesome!

That's for you "above 600 Credit Score" having lucky folks.

I'm not watching a NOT-THE-MOVIE scene on my VHS.

Yeah, I'm sure I've seen a few clips, but not enough to understand just how tough their jobs and lives are compared to the common man. Where does working in the music industry or acting business compare to software engineering, neuroscience, or being a surgeon? The latter 3 fields all have made great contributions to society and continue to do such. They help advance humanity and our knowledge. Acting and music on the other hand provide entertainment, but what are the positive lessons that they teach us? How do movies and music advance society and improve our well being?

The media in America, including movies and songs, place emphasis on sex, drugs, and violence. Where's the emphasis on family values, happiness, and morality? We need some doses of good, positive things too. I'm not a fan of movies or the music industry; though occasionally I will find a "mainstream" song or televisions series that I like.

I believe I just did.

I answered your question, now answer mine: Who are you?

Second question: Have you ever posted on this board?

TIA

You realize you just did what you accuse me of doing, correct?

ETA: that's actually 3 questions to you so forgive the inconvenience but it's nice to know something about newbies.

So its not the industry its the products that are the most popular that you disagree with?

There's plenty of music and movies with this focus. They just don't seem to do very well at all from a popularity standpoint.

I don't particularly appreciate its influence on some of the people around me, including friends.
I'm always welcome to find other friends though if it became a problem.

It's kinda like Nintendo vs Microsoft. The XBOX family just makes a living off of FPS games. Nintendo has so many haters from that crowd, and I don't like how those M-rated FPS games have consumed so many adolescent children that I had to engage with in the past and the present.

The average hollywood actor is NOTHING like your average joe, yet we obsess when they give awards to themselves. What do these people contribute to society? Most, if not all, were born wealthy, live wealthy, and will die wealthy. Life for them is smoking the most expensive weed and buying cars that your average joe will never lay his eyes on, yet these fricks all seem to be socialist "activists" concerned with the plight of the poor, even though 90% of them have "stein" in their last name.

quote: Moronic, racist post.

This -(even though 90% of them have "stein" in their last name.) may be racist to some people, not me really, but the rest of the statement is far more factual than you will ever care to admit.
