Most civil wars don't really have this. Groups coalesce around an area and push out from there. It would probably be the same. The US civil war was actually pretty unique.

Despite your Hero Democratic Senators who filibustered the Civil Rights Act, the Republicans got it through. However, this has nothing to do with that.
The Civil Rights Act was championed by President Kennedy and post assassination was made the top priority by President Johnson. You cannot get around the fact that the dates mentioned conveniently ended before the signing of some of the most important legislation in the history of the county. You mention the party affiliation which isn't as applicable in this case as it seems. As we know the fierce opposition came from all Southern representatives, with the southern breakdown appearing as such
In the house
Southern Democrats: 8–83
Southern Republicans: 0–11 (0–100%)
Senate
Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%)
Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%)
If anything the Southern Dems were more supportive than Republicans. Other notbale Republicans at the time were Barry Goldwater and Bourke Hickenlooper (voted against)

You fricking retard. 11/22/1963 (which I accidentally typed as 11/23/1963 in my first post) is the day JFK was shot. Lyndon Johnson ramped up our involvement in Vietnam and implemented the welfare state with his Great Society bullshite. My post was referring to the day Johnson gained power. It has been downhill from there.
His evil policies have led to an increase in welfare and a decrease in the nuclear family. His policies also led to the counterculture of the late 1960s (largely based on Vietnam protests), and those people's children are the ones driving this Marxist garbage going around today.
