The Democrat party is now run and exists as social progressives

They have nothing in common with ideals espoused on free speech, freedom of thought, diversity, etc.
They exist as only as a social disunity and disorganization campaign against, and I do recognize the irony, the progression of society

It's more out of necessity than self-correction, but I do think there are some choices being made about what the Democratic party wants to stand for. I think the understand they have clearly lost the white working class and they're in the process of deciding if they want to have them back.

They can't win statewide, and certainly not nationwide Presidencies without it, other than a few states. Whites are still a large enough demographic in every single state that alienating and especially being antagonistic towards them is a losing recipe.

I agree, but the SJW side is so vocal and they'll turn out to vote. And Trump has brought over a ton of white working class, and I don't know if the Democrats can get them back even if they wanted to.
I don't know if there is a path to viability and power if the Democrats don't get back at least a portion of the white working class.

It would be so simple for Democrats to get back the WWC: 1. Shut up about trannies; 2. Stop actively inciting lunatics to murder police officers, riot, and set fires. But I think they're too far gone down the path of believing their own bullshite to follow these two simple steps.

Real talk though. The thread is about the change of one party. But ignoring that the conservatives in this country have completely sold out the beliefs they have put out for decades.

I don't know if Trump's hold on the white working class will be permanent, but it's pretty strong right now. I think the Democrats should hedge by making overtures to the white working class because you know the SJW types have no other party to go to.

I think we are watching both parties disintegrate. The nationalist and libertarians are destroying the Rs. While the SJWS are destroying the Ds.

The country is not ready for transexuals and the bathrooms and the sports. Gays had to fight for 30 years until it became palatable. The Democrats would be making a fatal error dying on the chicks with dicks cross.
I think they've got to tread more carefully with the BLM stuff. They've had a stranglehold on the black vote for years, so they probably need to let them vent a bit. However, an appeal to law and order and peaceful protest would do well with the white working class.

That's going to be any political party. They don't exist to further the interests of their constituents, but of themselves and their power structure.
What matters for them, however, is that they have enough constituents and voters to win an election, and at least appear as if they are working towards those interests. If Democrats do not have the ability to make white working class people think they are being fricked over by Republican policies (or if these people feel their very existence is resented by other voices in their party), it doesn't matter what the reality is.

We shall see. You are acting as if Trump DESTROYED HRC. I know that is a fun talking point here in the echo chamber but the crucial states were won by small margins.
Conservatives here are acting with the very hubris that cost us liberal so dearly recently on the back of Obama's wins. Obama won by much larger margins btw.
