McCain's naval career was just that...a career and possible stepping stone to something bigger. in his case, the senate. I don't owe him respect. I don't owe him shite. what he did, he did for himself and it worked out. more power to him, but it wasn't selfless, his experiences whatever they may be were not heroic. he wouldn't "leave" his men alone. what good did that do them? his future would be over had he done that if that is indeed what happened.

I'd bet most of those complaining pay taxes and work in the private sector, something John McCain has never done. But I guess funding everything that John McCain has ever eaten, owned, lived in, drove, etc isn't a sacrifice.

McCain fought for his country, but for what? To kill a bunch of peasant rice farmers who had already defeated French imperialists and wanted us out as well? McCain was a victim of LBJ and the rest of his administration and war profiteers who sold the American public a false bill of goods.

The problem is, McCain became the very same monster who sent kids to die in 3rd world hellholes so a corporation could cut a higher profit. He had so much opportunity to use his experience to promote peace and instead became the biggest warmonger in the history of the Senate. I pity him.
