That message was that government had gotten out of control and career politicians weren't listening. Both parties were attacked.

It wasn't just mindless protesting

Yeah the tea party protested town halls like the left is doing now. My question is what is the lefts message? What is the core principle of their protest?

Protesting for the sake of protesting gets you no where - you need to offer a message to unite around and an alternative

Millions of people's health care hangs in the balance of what Congress does with Obamacare. It's completely appropriate for people to express to their lawmakers that repealing without an aquequate replacement is unacceptable.

There are other ancillary issues related to Trump, but that's the big one.

Where were you in 2009 when we were saying this exact same thing?

I know people can't be expected to know my history on here but I tire of having to say over and over and over again that I was not a fan of the ACA then or now.

yep, some members of Congress said REPEAL. they did not say REPLACE.

Boehner defused this today. calming the waters. we will just fix the broken parts.

Is that a winning platform though?

"Out of control government" was a winning message because so many identified with it. It's a big tent issue

How big of a net will "don't repeal ACA" cast?

probably not, but that's a different thread

i don't think the ACA is popular enough to really cause a major change

it's just good for "gotcha" clips

I called those idiots out at the time

In 2009 I said there are two types of tea party supporters

The Ron Paul types,

And the retard types who simply hated Obama. These are the types who think the GOP stands firm on their promises and watches FOX news every day

Vs. How many who will be glad the regulations, taxes and rate increases go away?

Misleading number. What percentage of those millions wouldn't have it due to their own personal choice? Stating "millions" sounds large, but pre OCare the law was designed to effect the 4% of population who were stuck without insurance yet wanting it.

You should start saying "well there's 4% of the population who wouldn't have insurance without it" which is a more honest representation.
