I keep hearing from the protesters that they aren't protesting the flag or our service men, that they are doing it because of racial inequalities and police discrimination. If this is so why don't they do it before the Nation Anthem, as many do when offering a prayer, not during The Anthem?

My thought is that they couldn't give a crap about our troops, our flag, or our country! If so they would donate more time and money to these communities. I fell it's a cheap gimmick to make themselves the attraction rather than the game. Screw them all!

Would doing it beforehand make you talk about it?

If it's not about the anthem then why are they doing it during the anthem?

Common sense is a powerful tool.

What has making him talk about it accomplished toward achieving these supposed stated goals to date?

like many of our leftist regressives, there is no set meaning behind it. No one had the balls to do it last year outside of a couple, and its turned into a drama routine.

I think it's actually a blessing in disguise (the skies according to some posters) for the US to cut any and all tax breaks associated to all things NFL.

It's to bring awareness that Cops treat some black differently that other people.

Profiling and excessive force..

What I see is hatred and rebellion towards police from inner city blacks so I see the relationship going nowhere positive in the future.

Time for the talks to get uncomfortable.

Someone call Colin K and tell him I am ready to sit down....but he needs to do the listening since we've all heard from him already.

You are asked to rise for the anthem / colors (flag) presentation as a sign of respect

To intentional kneel is to literally choose to not show respect (aka disrespect) your country/flag as your form of protest for whatever issue.

I don't get how people don't understand this

This is one of those things that if people just ignored it, it would have gone away on its own.

Why give people attention they crave?

Chris Long is the only person I know of that has done so. He's playing for free this season.

Also, his letter and reasoning behind it didn't mention anyone in particular which will resonate with at least some people.

If Eric Reid ( ) opted to pen the same letter, it would be full of racism garbage and police garbage etc.

There is nothing more disrespectful to any combat soldier than to send him to fight a war which accomplishes little, has no end in sight, promotes military industrial complex, props up a dictator or king, and brings him back in a box or physically maimed for life and psychologically damaged. All administrations since the end of WWII are guilty of this and the CIA is the major accomplice.

American foreign policy has tarnished the flag far more than any football player. Oh and by the way, peaceful protest is as American as it get. I support the kneelers and the NFL. How can I respect a POTUS who has shown so little respect for others? I can't and won't.
