Take Several Seats.

I’m 36. I’m from Texas. With the exception of maybe a year, I’ve lived in Texas or Louisiana my entire life. My parents were very conservative, both were really active within GOP politics. But, I have been equally active in Democratic politics my entire life. How many elections has my vote gone to a candidate who won at the state or national level? ZERO. In how many presidential elections has a Republican won the popular vote? ONE. One was determined by the Supreme Court and Trump won the electoral college in one. I don’t know how old y’all are, but it was my friends and cousins who had to go fight the war the first started to get imaginary WMDs before talking the economy. The second was an absolute disgrace who Made this country a laughing stock before tanking the economy and allowing 365,000 to die on his watch.

But, here’s the thing that pisses ME off since y’all are all grrr, so mad, gonna burn down the capitol bc, grrr, big mad over imaginary crackpot shite. In 2016, I was upset. I wasn’t the world’s biggest Hillary fan, but I hated Donald Trump. I was scared it would be bad. It was worse. For maybe one night, I pondered how maybe there was a mistake in Wisconsin or Michigan, then Hillary conceded, and I got over it. I had never feared a candidate in all my years of the crazy that is the Texas GOP. It’s just politics, but Trump was insane. I still never thought of destroying anything. When he won, liberals were inundated with news and stories about their out-of-touchliberal bubble. I fully understood bc I had been shouting that for years. I’ve never been privy to that bubble. There ain’t a liberal bubble in Lubbock or Baton Rouge. Hillary Clinton was a historically unpopular candidate. When people did what they always do - choose the lesser of two evils, she lost. Bc Benghazi. Bc Iraq. Bc woman. Bc Clinton. She did nothing to be more relatable either.

Now it’s your turn. Stop saying you were robbed. You lost. You got cocky. The population is changing - it’s younger. It’s not as white. For people my age, we’re in the second recession of our life, so sorry not sorry, we’re not too jazzed about boomer economic policies. Y’all thought the old “socialist, radical, soft on crime” shite could work and it doesn’t. While y’all were out here believing some nut on 4chan over news (yes, MSM - better than 4chan), reality, or facts. Y’all had truck caravans with “frick YOUR FEELINGS” flags. You had boat parades. You accused everybody of pedophilia. You didn’t do the work though. I’m a working mom. I was getting teargassed and shot with rubber bullets while registering voters and handing out masks at protests this summer - none of which involved beating police or destroying property. I wrote thousands of postcards to voters in swing states. I donated time and money, made tens of thousands of phone calls. I was a delegate. We did the work. We did the work and we won. Trump got 74.2 million votes (not 75). More than any Republican ever just like Hillary got more than any Democrat ever in 2016. There were days when I was tired and I didn’t want to put in the work, but I looked at my kid and knew that if I hadn’t done everything, I would never forgive myself. I would never forgive myself if I didn’t do EVERYTHING to prevent four more years of Trump. If you wanna hate a liberal, hate my arse. My name is Ashley - you can hate me all day everyday. IDGAF, do you. I ain’t a socialist, I ain’t a fkn commie, I don’t hate America or freedom, I don’t hate cops, I don’t want your fkn gun. I don’t kill babies and I don’t give a shite about cakes or twitter. I’m just not a racist. My parents were fiscal conservatives. Conversely, I’ve seen conservative fiscal policies fail repeatedly. I believe in science and good diplomacy. You wanna hit a liberal, come do it. Have at it. But, don’t pretend an election was stolen from you when I busted my arse to defeat your man. Biden won. Nobody stole shite, but y’all are trying to steal from us. Donald Trump got 74.2 million votes. Joe Biden got 81.2 million votes - not dead people, not illegals, not imaginary ballot drops, 81.2 million people voted for Joe Biden. Where did we get those votes? Idk, but 31% of 18-29 yr olds voted in 2016 compared to 55% in 2020. did y’all miss the spontaneous celebrations in every city in America when the election was called for Biden? Be rational. Be mad, but Trump lied to you. Q sure as hell lied to you. I just gave you facts. Deal with it. I don’t want y’all to be miserable, nobody does. Try and be rational though.
