I went to LSU IN late 80s-90s. My roommate was from Troy, Michigan. He could not get over how beautiful the women at LSU were and he would always tell me how ugly Michigan women were. He didn't like to go out as much as I did, but I'd always bring home a lovely Louisiana girl for him whenever I could. It made me appreciate the beauty of these southern women more.

That certainly explains my conservatism. I'm very good looking. I've always known conservative women were better as they actually bathe.

There is a simple explanation for this that I've explained here before. It involves 'fairness/justice/equality'.
The right sees that life is inherently unfair and it doesn't bother them because it's called 'nature'.
The left sees that life is unfair and they want it MADE fair by the force of govt fiat and the social pressure of political correctness.
Ugly people are more keenly aware of unfairness than beautiful people and thus they gravitate to the left which shares their value system.
There is also a correlation between IQ and beauty. People with higher IQs tend to earn more money. More money = more options when finding a mate. You can be more picky and thus secure a more attractive mate. Your children inherit both the higher IQ and the better looks.
Attractiveness also gives an unfair advantage to animals in nature. Take the koala bear:
They're not strong, smart or fast. But they're so damn cute people don't kill them for food. If they looked like lizards they'd be extinct.
