The study also backs the view that Clinton’s focus on identity politics and emphasis on condemning her opposition contributed to a campaign message devoid of substance with no clear LINK message on policy.

Did someone really need a study to show this? She lost to an orange man who says "Believe me" and "Yuge" every two sentences.

I was going to comment its hard to run a campaign with probably the worst candidate in American history.
A failure at every level, mired in scandal and criminal investigations her entire life. And currently the target of multiple serious criminal investigations.

It's kind of a challenge when you start a campaign with a person who isn't even largely liked by their supporters.
I mean, long before Trump came along, I really never met any liberals who spoke well of Hillary. It was more a sense of inevitability and, "well, she's better than those sucky republicans" kind of thing.
Let's face it. Liberals tried to pretend not to notice.........but for frick's sake.........have you ever seen a campaign where one of the primary goals was to hide the candidate from the public?

When 3 states that haven't voted for the opposition since 1984 and 1988 plus a district in deep blue Maine is all one needs to know that Clinton ran the worst campaign in many decades.

They could've saved their money & just called me.
No study needed.

Another ground breaking story from the journal

I read that and wondered about how Hillary could use the "Putin" method of promoting herself instead of just denigrating her opponent.
Putin famously showed himself riding horses without a shirt and doing Karate, etc.
Meanwhile, Hillary was falling down. To restore the public's confidence in her physical stamina they could have staged videos of her:
Shooting skeet
Swimming in the Potomac river
Doing a simple routine on the parallel bars
It could have been a game changer.

And just look at the spending disparity between the two
She got her own arse handed to her.
