Hover is a lying piece of shite. He will say anything to get reelected. Typical politician, change their stance on any issue to suit the situation or political climate.

The household wealth, however, is due to so many of said households working for the government, either directly or as contractors. As the government shutdown showed, take away the feds and traffic is hugely better, which indicates the number of people who draw a federal gov't paycheck. And much of that wealth is going to extremely high taxation rates, utility rates, gas prices, etc. There is also a huge difference (political and social) between Eastern Shore Maryland, mountainous Western Maryland, and suburban Maryland. As for the food, unless you like Old Bay and crabs, it's really not that great!

All very true. Crazy taxation.

Lot of G folks. Lot of fat cats like lobbyists and such.

Another thing about Annapolis ... it's a place where a person's dog is some sort of status symbol.

I do love me some Old Bay on french fries.

I love Annapolis! Not the fat cats and invading politicians and lobbyists but the beauty of the place, its history, and the Naval Academy. Sitting on the rocks by the Academy is heavenly (and not really allowed, I know). Hubby is from LA, and he despises Old Bay. Loves Zatarain's.

I love chick n ruths sandwiches and milkshakes! Annapolis is pretty nice too... Ive had a lot of good times at Pussers on the water.

However, in Maryland the tax is way too high and the state is way too liberal. Everything about Virginia is better. I cannot think of a single thing that Maryland does better than Virginia. VA has more fortune 500 companies, better taxes, more reasonable laws (including 2A), better roads, and better higher education.

Yes, there are many folks and companies choosing to relocate to VA from Maryland.

Its sad... I was born and raised there. I just had to move to VA. PG County and Baltimore City are a complete dump.

Yes... MD has the highest income per capita in the country but the cost of living is astronomical. You cant even rent the basement out of someone's house for less than $1000/mo.

Absolutely right! A townhouse rents for $2500 a month! A typical state run by Democrats and inhabited by voters who mindlessly vote in the incumbents and same party candidates over and over and over.
