I'm sure they removed deaths from things like car accidents and gun violence as those are totally unrelated to healthcare.

Know what all those other countries have in common? Single payer systems. Yet everyone on this board is vehemently opposed to them so insurance companies can keep getting rich off our sickness.

Insurance companies got rich off of the regulations put in place by the government at their own behest. ACA is the same thing on steroids. Single payer is the same thing but cuts out th middle man so you can be fleeced directly by the state and politicians can get rich off our sickness.

Is that the only thing they have in common? They are all very Lilly white (except Japan and Korea). Maybe white folks and Asians live longer?

So skin color determines longevity? Wow that's a new one. The more plausible answer is they are all wealthier countries.

Single payer systems.

Health spending has risen faster than economic growth in all OECD countries over the past 20 years, and public funds still account for around three-quarters of health spending. Many countries remain heavily reliant on payroll taxes, which will decline as their populations age.

Homogenous populations. Better diets. More active lifestyles.

That's interesting they are only trying to tie life expectantcy to your healthcare expenditures and not something like, I don't know, the overall lifestyle of said citizens. The fact we are anywhere close in life expectancy is pretty impressive considering our citizenry.

Also, who subsidizes those countries? Who pays for the drug development and research for the vast majority of medicine and treatments used? Oh that's right, the country that is paying more. Shocker.

I'm glad "single payer" was brought up. The ACA was designed to fail so Single Payer would be voted in.
But Trump won and now they are shitting themselves.

You know what else those countries don't have to worry about? Defense spending. Let's see how things go when they have to pay more for the pleasure of security or they shift funds from healthcare towards defense to beef up their own defense.

Repeal the McCarron-Ferguson Act of 1945, like Trump and other have been trying to do for years and it's a brand new ball game in health-care.

quote:

Let’s put this into perspective. There are extraordinarily few antitrust exemptions and for good reason. Antitrust exemptions mean that competitors do not have to compete. They can live the cozy life where they work cooperatively to have a stable and profitable market. And consumers pay the price in higher prices, less choice and less innovation.

The McCarran-Ferguson exemption was passed in 1945 to protect small insurance companies incorporating at that time who had a great need for data from existing insurers in order to set premiums effectively. Because such information sharing was illegal under the antitrust standards of the era, Congress provided an antitrust free pass.

They're the assholes that pushed this shite sandwich through without even knowing the outcome.
They're the assholes that said "you have to read it to see what's in it".
They're the assholes that shite the bed with this garbage and are now wanting to pass blame.

If idiots like you can't see that the democrats are NOT there for their constituents BUT are only there for their own well being and pocket padding then you're more of a dumbass than initially thought. The democrats are flat out useless crooks and a bunch of no good liars. BOLD FACED liars.

Frick you, frick the obamas, and FRICK obamacare!

If obamacare is so good, why aren't the politicians chomping at the bit to get in on it? Because it's complete garbage. That's why, you schmegma.

Why would those deaths be biased toward the US than other countries, rather than balancing out?
