So what actually stopped the insurrection?

Sure, I'm just some guy that watched the whole thing live a year ago, so maybe I need to ask someone better informed...but, what exactly stopped this assault on our democracy? What force rose up and stopped the sacking of our Capitol?
Thinking back, once inside the insurrectionists had total control of the building. At one point they were sitting at the Speaker's desk, both public and private. Hell, they NEARLY raped and murdered AOC, and they managed to do that with her being in a completely different building blocks away!
So, if the goal was to take over the building and place Donald Trump on the throne, what stopped them? I don't recall the national guard violently pushing anyone out of the building. Or the Marines. Or Capitol Police. Other than that traitor Ashli Babbit getting shot with one bullet, I don't recall any firearms being fired at insurrectionists.
Thinking back, they sort of just got bored and wandered off, right? So the worst attack on pour Nation's Capitol and the darkest day in our history ended when the perps...got bored?
It's amazing The Left is attempting the ride this issue so badly. It should be painfully obvious it's all they think they have and equally obvious they knew there was ZERO to worry about and were essentially orchestrating the whole thing. If there had been any actual danger, there would have been an actual, violent and swift response.

Didn't they continue with the voting hours after the "insurrection"?

The fbi guys that started it were told to stop once Nancy got the optics she wanted

They all forgot to bring weapons.

I believe the capitol police kindly asked them to wrap it up and head home. They followed that instruction from what I remember.

I think this Assault on our Democracy resulted in about a 3 hour delay.

Ashli Babbitt getting murdered I think put a halt to things.

Hand held signs and flags were really terrifying
If a day were to ever come where a real scenario would occur the above wouldn't be utilized.

Until the Gestapo showed up to their doors several months later to throw some into the Gulag.

So he didn’t really want to take over? Why not?

Right...but would it have had it been an actual insurrection? Would one fired shot, and one downed man been enough to turn back the horde that was there to dismantle our democracy?
In fact, it would seem as though firing that shot, into a crowd that was hellbent on overturning our way of life, would have emboldened those who were there to do harm.
Instead, they all sort of walked away mumbling to themselves, "shite...after this past summer I was sure that police would allow us to get pissed and break a few things without shooting live rounds at us..."

iPhone batteries ran down so folks went home

I thought he told them to do it in the first place?
So...he told them to sack the Capitol and overturn our Democracy, but then told them to go home a couple of hours later when they were completely inside with zero shots fired?
I bet it was that Sean Hannity text, right?

They dispersed after they couldn't find Pence or Pelosi.

A variety of factors: Time to pick the kids up from school, time to make dinner, time to get ready for the night shift at their second job. Stuff like that
