all I'm saying is no one, especially famous people, should consider themselves "safe" in the current climate from accusations

There are several accounts that describe the Carter inauguration as one of the biggest coke parties in history.
But I do buy that Carter was likely oblivious.

He is not an a-hole but its not entirely practical to turn down or not initiate business dinners or lunches with members of the opposite sex in certain lines of work. In fact you might be considered sexist for doing so.
