Part of me thinks it's because the Chinese don't look like white Americans...

It's a ratings war bro! Make everything an issue!

Trump is trolling the media. He knew exactly what he was doing when he made that phone call, and say that he didn't, he surrounds himself with intelligent people for a reason. It's not a line in the sand, but more of a letting you know that I see you type thing.

They are just lashing out at everything like a cornered snake.

Remember, their entire world view just got roundly rejected by the people. Trumps victory is the worst thing to happen to dems since republicans ended slavery. The nerves are still exposed.

Having a cynical outlook on politics is appropriate in many ways, but you're overdoing it.

You can't overdo it on Donald, though. He's overdone. And his little cockamamie rhetoric and his teeny, trifling tweets are completely and totally inadequate and bush-league. He needs to do something BIG to compensate for his weaknesses and defects and fails and tomfoolery. Perhaps he can do it with his huge infrastructure plan. We'll see. He better have an excellent plan, make great deals, and get quality people from across the political spectrum involved. If the infrastructure project isn't great and terrific and the best, Don will be crushed.

Anyone can disagree with Trump on this, but to say he doesn't know what he's doing is ridiculous.

If you think that, you haven't been paying attention.

We don't need to kneel to anybody, i just ask the President to understand the lay of the land and have a plan before he does things. Neither of those appear to be the case here.

Either be more specific about your ridiculous message...or go drop to your knees and beg Daddy Donald to fix it for you.

The moral inconsistency is astounding.

The consistency lies in the liberal progressive meltdown aka finding ways to criticize Trump from any possible angle. You will not find any moral consistency on the left, only exclusive inclusiveness consistent with their narrative. The perfect example is support for Muslim immigration in spite of the fact that most Muslims and Islam itself are diametrically opposed to values championed by leftist. They are able to get away with this apparent contradiction due to a largely supportive liberal controlled media.

One owns most of our debt, is an economic powerhouse and a significant trading partner. The other exports oil (not to us), vodka, brides, mafia and porn.

Those significant differences aside, I don't see the big deal in talking to the leader of Taiwan after 40 years of the cold shoulder. But we will see what comes of it.

In normal US Presidential foreign policy there is certain diplomatic things via the State Dept that any oncoming POTUS adheres to. The very sad thing is: Obama's foreign policy is a hot mess and no one trusts the current State dept or any current government agency at this point.

Obama is hyperpartisan. Reagan shocked a lot of people by the establishments saying, 'he can't do that', and they stfu and praised him later.
