We just elected the most liberal republican in history and they are shitting themselves. Is the left a majority of progressives now?

I don't think it matters if the president is democrat or conservative as long as he wreaks of Washington and plays ball with insiders and the media to form opinions for the masses.

Trump is letting the masses form their own opinions and the rulers of the "free" world are freaking out.

I believe ALL of this is the power brokers attempting to secure their positions prior to Trump being sworn in.

I used to believe in our republic but Washington, DC elites (our ruling class) have us right where they want us; that is, divided, angry and distracted.

Everywhere I look people are spewing hatred and venom towards one another to attack or defend their so-called conservative or liberal/progressive positions. Even when a descent discussion begins to take place it deteriorates into hyperbole and partisan garbage. All the while the ruling class screws all of us.

I'll give a(n increasingly rare) serious answer and say that people (and not just liberals) are freaking out because Trump is totally unpredictable with positions that are constantly shifting.

It makes for awesome soundbites and Twitter posts but when most everything is on the table, people are naturally going to be on edge until he shows a governing pattern.

Right now, the only guess is that he'll outsource foreign policy to "the experts" and be very hands on with domestic economic policy.
