What I saw yesterday in the bernie vs ted debate was the exact opposite. Bernie couldn't really move on from vague platitudes and he didn't indicate he grasped the nuances of the tax code.

Ted came in with facts, logic, and sound economic theory.

Bernie's entire worldview seems to be based on envy and the zero-sum fallacy. It's actually kind of sad because as a Jew, he should know how dangerous it is when you make people envious of "the rich". I am sure bernie had ancestors that were harrassed or even killed by townspeople who were angry at his ancestors' success.

Bernie is a fraud and we are lucky that the DNC rigged the nomination and didn't allow his cancerous ideas to spread even more.

liberals are more intellectual than conservatives, BUT they also care more about people's feelings than conservatives

conservatives have no feelings but will fall for any appeal to feelings

Progressives have resentment, grievance and entitlement. They think these emotions, translated into policy by The State can create fairness. It's a fairy tale, but it soothes their psychology. It energizes them to imagine settling scores.

Bernie has 3 houses. I have 1. Bernie, give me 2 of your houses. It's only fair!

That's the exact opposite of the media narrative. Bernie is presented as the only one who is not a fraud.

Can anyone name three Democrats of similar age who are as intellectual as Cruz, Paul, Rubio?

Conservatives have very high standards, which is great, but I feel we've developed a nasty habit of dismissing Republicans for just about anything. To be clear, this is a feature of conservatism that I hold in very high regard. Liberals don't eat their own, but liberals also don't have spines, so it's different. We have principals, and not compromising one's principals is perhaps the strongest testament to one's character. That all said, the three aforementioned should get greater support from this board. They're not perfect, but even an overcooked steak is better than a shite sandwich.

Wrong.

Here's an illustration of the difference between a liberal and a conservative. Liberals like you get on here day in and day out and bitch that the minimum wage should be higher and that there should be more government welfare for the poor, especially the kids.

I , being a conservative, feel compassion for poor children, so I adopted 2.

Cruz has always been an excellent senator and even better in debates. His issue, not unlike Rand Paul, is that he lacks the ability to be personable and articulate his ideas for the “common” man to fully understand. That and he made a serious error in judgment aligning with the deranged Glenn Beck.

In my experience dem-progs assume they are the most intelligent people ever because that's what they are told. I mean, who doesn't want to believe something so positive?

The Clinton Foundation's lack of monetary support to Puerto Rico says "not so fast my friend". The Republican president of the USA says "wanna bet' to your statement.

Are you saying liberals let their feelings trump their intelligence even when they know they shouldn't?

Virtually all of the enduring political philosophy in America is Conservative. Whether it be the Classically Liberal logic of The Founders or the Conservative Movement philosophy that evolved in the post war era, it has dominated the intellectual discourse. There is nothing since 1950 that rivals WFB, Hayak, Kirk,Friedman for instance. You might argue Keynes would be the exception. The Progressives/Leftists have dominated the cultural discourse. But Conservatives own the intellectual discourse. I'm not talking about Chattering Class self-appointed "intellectuals". Those guys leave nothing behind other than their poseur clichés.
