So Democrats care about the deficit now?

I've been reading and hearing that Democrats are solid "No" if tax cuts profit the rich, or if the tax cuts increase the deficit
So after 8 years of doubling the deficit under Obama (with no pushback), Democrats are now all of a sudden fiscal hawks?
It's sad to see the hypocrisy here, but it doesn't suprise anyone. 20 Trillion in debt, and now Democrats are concerned of the "burden" that taxpayers have been feeling. Wow

Or, to take your logic and reverse it to Republicans:
Republicans no longer care about the deficit.
Kind of like a game is being played in DC, and we're all the useful pawns.

That's probably true, but wouldn't a booming economy pay for those cuts? Curious

When has anyone not been concerned about the deficit? It is how its fixed that is the debate.

Theoretically, but I don't trust DC to stop spending any time soon.

It will balloon the deficit.
Children will die.
Grandma will be thrown off the cliff.

No elected idiot gives a shite about the debt or deficit spending......this really isn't news

Republicans are lowering taxes on businesses in a effort to get company's to come back to America and help small businesses grow.that would get more companies in the country paying taxes and more people working also paying taxes. If that happens there may not not be a deficit , we may even lower the deficit.

It's politics.
You are only concerned about the deficit when you are not the one controlling the money.

This is the way I look at it...
I have come realize that there is 0 chance we will ever pay off our national debt. No politician will ever actually be willing or able to take the steps necessary.
With that in mind, if the deficit is going to continue to grow I'd much rather it be because more money is going back to the people who payed it in the first place as opposed to the government dolling it out to cronies and non-productive members of society.

You swalled that nonsense hook line and sinker.
The Republicans are devising way to reward their base just as Obama did when he was in power, and the wheel goes round and round.
If either party was serious we would have a balanced budget amendment and an actual plan to reduce the outstanding debt.

Firstly, the deficit decreased under Obama.
Secondly, you are clearly confusing deficit and debt.
Thirdly, the debt grew under Obama, but not disproportionately compared with other modern presidents.
Fourthly, the Republican plan, which will increase the deficit, will result in an increasing rate of growth for the debt, meaning it will grow faster under Trump than it did under Obama.
And finally, please take some time to learn at least the basic terminology of the economy (debt, deficit, surplus, gdp, etc) as well as some basic math (fractions, rates of change, etc) before trying to argue about it. You’ll save everyone, including yourself, a lot of time in the long run.
Cheers!

It's sad that there's a debate.
Have less going out than is coming in.
That will mean cutting some programs or raising taxes.
Cutting programs is political suicide.
Raising taxes is political suicide.

Well, one approach leads to a future of reducing the national debt
The other leads to exponential increases in national debt.
Lemmeeee see here - I am so confused - I may need to rely on some hard edged political catchphrase to guide my decision.

The only politician the in my lifetime to genuinely care about the deficit is Ron Paul. Everyone else in D.C. is going to spend us into destruction.

The only time Democrats care about war, the economy, or the deficit is when a Republican is in the WH.

Newsflash: nobody cares about the deficit in Washington.

Now there is the true fear.
Unless we as a nation agree to stop passing the debt on to our great-grandchildren, nothing will change.
