Yet another reason why this POS bill rightfully went down the drain. Drmocrats AND Republicans are bought and paid for. THEY KNOW this was a shite bill, and exempted themselves from it.

yeah Daily Kos, but linky

Side note: NOW the Daily KOS is mad that Congress exempted themselves from a HC bill?

i fricking hate politicians.

still holding out hope that trump can make some lasting difference but he's being neutralized by the combined might of the establishment.

sucks.

they don't give a fricking shite about anything but their own careers.

what a joke to think they actually want to be the voice of the people who voted for them.

Only about 10% of the Senate gives a shite. It's disgusting.

True, but not because of this. Most of the people on this board don't get health insurance through Obamacare. We get it through our employer. Federal government employees get their insurance through the government, not through the Obamacare exchanges. Congress is no exception.

Members of congress don't get "free" health insurance. The government pays for 72% of their premiums. They pay for the rest.

And?

They are EXEMPT from the laws they require us to obey. Not just where they would have to buy it… they are entirely above it.

That's kind of true.

The aide said it was included to ensure that the bill hewed to the chamber’s strict reconciliation rules that limit the policies this health bill can include

So yeah, they knew their shitty bill had no chance of passing without making it as procedurally easy as possible, despite the "optics"

That isn't true. Every member of congress is on Obamacare.

Members of Congress buy their insurance from the ACA exchanges. The government pays 72 percent of the cost.
