So, you have an acceptable number of deaths within a time period? Give me some numbers. Something to work with. A level of inefficiency in killing you want to reach? Will we ever reach a point where butter knifes are banned as well?

It won't end anything except your ability to defend yourself . First it will be AR style weapons , then they will want your handguns and shotguns. It will not end till your holding a sling shot and ball bearings and when they see that as a threat they'll try and take that to .

If there is one thing history has shown, it's that banning something makes it disappear.
Drugs - check
Murder - check
Stealing - check
Rape - check
Contraban in prisons - check
Booze during prohibition - check
The list goes on. The point is, if you want to lock something down and 100% guarantee that you don't ever see it again, ban it.

I had a socialist on facebook tell me the reason AR-15s should be banned is because they look scary. Because they look like a weapon used primarily for killing people, that AR-15's somehow make people think about killing others when they are using it. He was basically stating that the appearance of an AR-15 compels people to commit murder, and since no one "needs" a gun that looks like a military weapon, that AR-15's should be banned. They even admitted that AR-15's are functionally no different than most hunting rifles.
I just don't think there's any reasoning with that level of stupidity.

Either way, what are the discriminant self-defense uses for an ICBM?
