Sorry, some of us actually have to work for a living.
Why would they be on Youtube claiming they want to if like your previous sentence states, that they do not want to.

The chances of them pulling off a major event in the US is slim because they do not want to. Going on youtube and claiming you want to do something

1. This is what he's talking about - getting Sunnis involved
4. pretty high. I doubt it will be as spectacular as flying planes into buildings, but something like poisoning a water system, destroying transmission lines etc. would be extremely disrupting and chaotic. I think they will try.
5. pretty high
6. Get the hell out of the Middle East. That doesn't play well with the "let's kick their arse" group (and to be honest, I'm a part of that group sometimes) but we've been trying to influence Middle East policy for 50 years and it seems to ALWAYS backfire on us.
frick it. Let's transition to natural gas and nuclear. It's not worth it. It's time for our allies to take the lead for a while and pay their own way for a while.

Bamarep is the most apt username I think I have ever seen congrats

quote:Just a guess, but it appears he doesn't want it to look like the U.S. is going at this alone. Perhaps he also wants to see who will publicly commit to it for whatever reason.
1. When Obama says that they want to organize Arab nations to help fight ISIS or ISIL, what exactly does he mean and what are the chances that the US can successfully pull this off?
Chances are this isn't going to happen.
quote:Yes.
2. When Obama speaks of organizing these nations, which I can only assume would also include some European nations as well like England, is he essentially stating that he wants to form a coalition, like Bush attempted to do with Iraq?
quote:I don't believe it's about numbers as much as it is about public acknowledgement.
3. What is the acceptable number of partners for this coalition (it seems that Bush was blasted for never having enough in his "Coalition of the Willing...or whatever stupid name they gave it)?
quote:Zero. ISIS is a much more valuable boogeyman as a threat. Besides, it appears their main purpose is to get us into Syria. I don't see how a major attack here would help in that regard.
4. What are the chances of a major attack by ISIS on US Soil (Think 9/11)?
quote:Multiple? Zero. See above. I could see one or two perhaps just to let the sheople know these folks are "real" while also imposing more laws on the citizenry. For their safety, of course.
5. What are the chances of multiple smaller attacks by ISIS on US Soil (Think car bombs)?
quote:It should be to capture the perps and bring them to justice. It would be to wage further war on the ME, and in particular, Syria.
6. Finally, if either (4) or (5) above happen, what should the US response be and what will it be?

Contrary to what most believe, I think Arab nations (particularly ones that are having to deal with these a'holes) have a vested interest in destroying them so it's quite possible they will band together. Countries like Tanzania, Kenya, Yemen etc will always turn a blind eye to them however.

Bush, as you are well aware, did not attempt to, but he did. Hence the "Coalition of the Willing" came to bear. It was a good strategy considering the mess we got ourselves involved in. I have always been curious to see how successful we would've been had UK/AUS/POL etc not helped us out.

It should be every country, but especially every country that doesn't want to be overrun by these terrorists. With globalization, it seems like too many countries want to remain out of the fray and to a certain extent, I don't blame them.

4. What are the chances of a major attack by ISIS on US Soil (Think 9/11)?
Inevitable contrary to what many think. Two dumbasses were able to set off synchronized bombs @ the Boston Marathon and they were amateurs who were previously told would have a proclivity to carry it out. Poor intelligence once again by our "security" arm.

5. What are the chances of multiple smaller attacks by ISIS on US Soil (Think car bombs)?
Minimal IMO - their doors would be kicked in before that happened.

6. Finally, if either (4) or (5) above happen, what should the US response be and what will it be?
Root these f'ers out and show no mercy.

They had this opportunity to get the moderate Sunnis of the Levant involved in opposing the Wahhabi groups but decided that toppling Al-Assad was more important in 2012. And since Al-Assad is part of this Shiite/Christian/Druze/minority sect alliance in Syria, the US armed factions who utilized the extremist Sunni militants to do the fighting. Most of these guys are imported. Fareed Zakaria should have written that tripe about two years ago.

I would say extremely low.
The guy spent his whole life 'organizing'. That's his expertise.
