I think you are correct, but the problem is that conservatives that have made similar "bad jokes" have been ruined
we are getting closer and closer to actual conflict in the streets I think (yes, we already have out of control protests that turn to riots, but what happens when this type of conduct is actually employed by both sides?)

I don't think you are wrong actually. Seeing people on the right have their lives ruined while the left says want they want is leading to all of this coming to a head.

If you make blatantly racist, sexist, or homophobic statements you should expect backlash. Just like if you make tasteless jokes about people's children you should also expect backlash.

I totally agree.The difference of course is that the pictures of the Obama girls were complimentary bordering on worship. As is usual the case with liberals, they immediately turn to attack.
