Seriously. I have zero knowledge of BR demographic shifts over the last 50 years. I used to read the Morning Advocate in the 60s before I moved to Shreveport.

Baton Rouge was right there with Shrevesburg. Seems like everyone is moving out of BR into Ascension. Need more roads over here ASAP

You ever hear of anyone dying to relocate to Shreveport before the last several years?

The last several years they have been all democrack. So, I don't see your point. All the conservatives moved across the river to Bossier starting 20 years ago. Bossier is the fastest growing parish in the state. We be booming.

Bossier elections have 2 choices: 'R' and 'no party'. No party is what the democrats use because they cannot win here with a 'D'. They don't win here with a 'no party' either.

They're 1 or 2 council members away from being full-on Jackson.

The 50s and today in Shreveport are exact opposites. Today, Shreveport = Detroit.

Pine Bluff is just an extension of Jackson Mississippi. We don't claim it.

So, Shreveport to Jackson thru Pine Bluff. We talking some serious gerrymandering here.

I grew up in that area
I went there for a tournament in 98 or 99. Folks were nice enough, but definitely had a “land that time forgot” feel to it.

They got crime, crime and more crime - Shreveport is "big city" in all the ways that are bad and "little town" in all the ways that are bad.

Kind of like Jackson, Mississippi.

The results have been amazing. No crime, skyrocketing property values, excellent schools. And, we have 4 Starbucks on Airline Drive.

List as Lake Charles and New Orleans as growing faster than Lafayette. Hummm, not sure I buy that.

For the record, though, Metairie is NOT a city, but it's on the list.

Your dad is full of it. During that period there were more independent oil and gas producers located in Shreveport than any place in the world. All of the majors had offices there.

There are no great cities to choose from in LA - the fact that BR and NO people laugh at Shreveport is what's truly laughable - I've lived worked and gone to school in all of them and the problems everyone points to at Shreveport are no different in BR or NO - there is good and bad in each of them. Aside from LSU's flagship campus being in BR, it's every bit the shite hole - and NOLA is nothing but a tourist trap.

And you wonder why a lot of North LA top players don't what to sign with LSU??? Narrow-minded, smug, and typically stupid people like you guys - my guess is that most of you have never traveled outside of LA enough to know a nice town if it slapped you in the face.

Well La kinda sucks as a state by most objective measures. Shreveport being a second-rate city in a third-rate state doesn’t help. And I’ve been in small, charming towns in lots of places in the US and abroad. Shreveport just isn’t one.

Nice people, though.
