I know the answer to fix it, break up the left African American strongholds and let the kids have a chance. It is socioeconomics, not slavery. It will break up their consolidated power strongholds for the Democrats, but give the youth a chance.
These kids do not come predetermined to grow up bad, dumb, lazy, thuggish - it is the adults that make them that way. You put a group of Asian, Black and White kids in the same stable family environment and they are all coming out the same.
The Democrats have been enslaving the African American population since the Civil War and it has not changed.

why is it when Ben Carson compared welfare and the projects to slavery--- he was demonized in the media for weeks? somehow I think this NFL player meant it ignorantly and literally?

I think once something hasn't been around beyond a century it's time to stop placing blame on that and move on.
How about a bit of personal responsibility?
How about we review numbers/statistics on why one minority has "a harder time" than the rest.
How about we promote having a mother and a father in the home and putting value on education.
