and apparently has no problem with players flashing Black Power signs, how would he respond if some closeted NFL player was a white supremacist and gave the Nazi salute to our flag?
I know it's an unlikely scenario, but wouldn't this form of expression be equally protected under Goodell's view of free speech?

Theoretically yes....however we all know that this isn't about "free speech". This is all about a lack of leadership/backbone by a bunch of really rich guys that we're afraid if they did the right thing they would be roasted by the MSM.

What's dumb is that this is even a thing to be discussed.

You're right and everyone knows it and that makes people uncomfortable.

Unlikely

Goodell, ironically, is the one who really has no real authority to police the anthem behavior, at least the behavior we've seen (guy can't go ripping up the flag). So if a player did what you're, then it would be the owner who would ultimately make a decision.

I would think the commissioner would have some sway over the rules that dictate things on the football field? If not directly, certainly indirectly.

It's not about free speech and my hypothetical situation would certainly expose this.

Leave the race-baiting to the race-baiting folks because there's plenty on-the-bone here without the racial element being thrown into mix.

How should one leave the race component out when the Black Power salute which is a symbol of race power is being allowed by the commissioner?

Because they don't want to admit the hypocrisy.

Black power is acceptable, anything white is racist.

Goodell wouldn't have to do anything. The Jewish Defense League would be all over it as would AIPAC and the Rosh Roseannadanna Moses Militants as well.

I think every reasonable person knows this has nothing to do with the NFL supporting their players right to "free expression" and everything to do with the NFL being too scared to stand up to the BLM thugs and the left wing media.

They're so scared they'd rather insult a huge portion of their fanbase rather than stand up to them.

Apparently so. We've seen other companies conduct self destructing behaviors instead of offending the P.C. crowd.

Yeah I wouldn't watch egotistical displays of white racism either . I have decided not to reward those who peddle racism whether it be The KKK, the NFL, The Aryan Brotherhood, The Democratic Party, CNN, the NBA, etc.

Nor would I, but that's not the point.

The good ole "unity" but also "free speech" sales pitch. So if any pro Trump player who's freely speaks out, do you still accept him as "unity"? Or is it now divisive? Very confusing.

What if a bunch of white players used American sign language for 'rock' and when asked why, they explained they were celebrating the Mayflower Pilgrims founding of the Plymouth Colony?
