I want this story to be true. But there is not enough independent evidence to make me believe it is true. And, as you pointed out, the author makes it even more problematic.

Right. The whole thing smells like bullshite on the surface, but then you have to ask yourself, where are the "legitimate" mainstream accounts of what went down there that night? Wouldn't you expect there to be some? Isn't the fact that there are none at least somewhat telling?

this is a candidate who forced the press to not be able to view her getting on/off airplanes
HRC knows what kind of person she is and the potential issues of that becoming public. her staff knows, too. the media covering her knows, too. anyone who thinks that there aren't some serious issues with her interactions with people are just lying to themselves
she is still living in a mid-90s mindset. she thinks that she can just hide and her media cohorts going in step will protect her. she has no idea that in these days of full access, people will come to their own conclusions. for example, if she came clean with some of her physical issues it wouldn't be nearly as bad as what she allowed to develop across the internet
