This was always an interesting ethical question to me. If homosexuality is something you are born with (which i think it is), than what if we could "cure" it.

I put "cure" in question marks because i don't necessarily consider it a disease, if you could modify someones hair color you wouldn't call that a cure.

But at the same time, there are a lot of issues and setback involved with being homosexual, and while i ams rue there are a lot of happy and adjusted homosexuals out there, most people wouldn't choose that lifestyle.

Back to the original question in the OP ... it sounds like liberals will then want a "caveat" to the general stance of "a woman can have an abortion at any time for any reason" stance such that ... "unless child will be gay" ... in which case, abortion will be ruled out and all of the sudden, poof!, life is precious and valuable, etc., etc.
I've asked this question on this board before.

If they ever figure out how to tell if you're going to be gay in the womb, you can pretty much bet that some people will abort said babies for ONLY that reason.

Would liberals seek to make that illegal? If so, why?

As a conservative, I'd want to make that illegal. TBH, I'd rather not have a gay son or a lesbian daughter, but I wouldn't flush them down the can because they were so. That's the tricky part. Those who want to play God don't know how those
"defective" units will live their lives.

Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand von Steuben was a peter puffer who trained the Continental Army. Alan Turing was a code breaker in WWII who knew lambda calculus and laid the foundation for computational theory. Ya think the world would be the same if their moms had aborted them?

My recommendation is to not stick a screwdriver in somewhere and tinker around with something you don't understand.
