The coach needs to go.
He handled this wrong a player should never apologize for following the NFL rules and respecting this country.

Loyalty to team over Country right? How many deployments do you have to your credit?

The point of the Steelers not going out for the anthem was so that you didn't know where any of them stood on the issue. I'm sure some honored it, some didnt, etc.
I don't get the outage over the kneeling, especially since only about 5 players were kneeling before last week. That being said, Tomlin wasn't being racist and Villanueva doesn't deserve to be published.

Ironically, views like the OP are probably far more punishment to Villanueva since he undoubtedly never meant for Tomlin to get thrown under the bus.

Do you actually believe this or are you just trying to be as hyperbolic as possible?

It's true. I think you are conflating "disrespecting" with "intending to disrespect".

I think you're conflating "demanded players not go on the field to salute the flag" with "tried to collaborate on a unified action and settled on a plan to stay in the tunnel"

Nope.

Anyone who thinks that these protests are disrepectful to military members is out of their mind. Literally not a single person in the NFL has tried to link their protest with the US military.

Then why do it during the anthem?

Look, I'm not losing my mind over this. I think this is the biggest bunch of fake outrage over a story possibly this year(and we've had some humdingers).

But if you're not looking to insult the flag, or the military, or first responders or the other myriad of groups who for whatever reason hold the anthem and the flag very close to their hearts, why do it during the anthem?

Did you know that win or lose, every NFL team has a mandated press conference after their games? You literally get a fricking podium to say what you want after you answer press questions. If you're only objective is to thumb your nose at Trump, why not do it during the post game press conference when you have a damn microphone in front of your face? Why not say exactly what's on your mind instead of making such a huge production out of kneeling for something they say they respect? I'm not buying it.

That's all the energy I'm willing to spend on this topic. I'll be watching every Sunday and Monday. I'm not going to cry and boycott like a whiny prog. They can have that shite.
