At least thirty shots fired. One officer expected not to make it. Still clearing the scene. Witness reports say shooter had a beard and was wearing a cap. Used a handgun and was throwing smoke grenades. Thread on OT with a live link to scene.
Looks like most of the people in the bar were students at Cal Lutheran University.

Mass shooting
I'm not trying to be a dick but this term is starting to get overused. And the immediate reporting of all possibilities before any facts are known is frustrating to me.

As of right now we are already hearing a mass shooting by a middle eastern guy with an assault rifle.

It may end up an isolated incident with a white guy with a hand gun for all we know because the guy isn't caught and the scene isn't secure yet.

What happened to just reporting an 'ongoing incident' before all facts are known?

Clickbait headlines should not be the national news go to for every story.

The description was given by a witness who was there.

Mass shooting definition changed in 2013. It was passed by Congress in2012 and signed into law January 2013.

It changed to killing at least 3 people not including the shooter. Another definition would be a least 5 injured(not killing) not including the shooter.

It does not count if it is like gang on gang violence or group of people shooting at each other.

Kentucky supermarket would not count as a mass shooting unless more than 5 people were injured. It would be considered a hate crime because of the people targeted.

The deputy, a veteran of 29 years, has died. The shooter is dead too.

I am going to guess. A girl just broke up with the shooter and was in the bar with her new boyfriend. The shooter plays violent video games. Guess over.

They said they have only found one handgun so far.

A guy that was in there is on Fox news saying it looked like a short barreled machine pistol of some kind, with a large magazine. He said it was small caliber and was possibly an Uzi. He also said he really doesn't know.

California gun laws. Gotta admit, I did not think yesterday would go like it did post-election. Everyone needs to be extra vigilant for the next week or so.

Sad situation. I am listening to eye witnesses on Fox and they can't even agree on the shooter's race. One said a white guy with very fair skin while the other said "dark skin".

We probably won't know anything about the shooter until later tonight.

I see one attendee was wearing a Reagan/Bush shirt and one wearing a Black Rifle hoodie. Seems likes some conservative young people. Makes you wonder if that’s why that bar was targeted. Pics are from the Fox News article.
