good for you.

too bad you are in the minority, and the trend of him being supported by the black community is still very real.

Sure. If not, he'd be another street preacher.

By that logic, Rush Limbaugh must be completely supported by the White community. No one will ever respect White folks as long as they keep supporting race baiters like Limbaugh.

Just curious, but do you think we, like, meet every month to vote on issues and people we support? And come up with a whole, like, Black Community platform?

Considering how fat he used to be, that doesn't look like a diet or gastric bypass. Looks like the brother's got a case of the HIgh fiVe.

Again I ask, why is it that nobody trusts the media.....except with their portrayal of "the black community?" Has it ever crossed any of y'alls minds that maybe those black people who want to speak out against the Als and Jesses of the world get no airtime or get ignored?

Eta: Like I said in a post the other day, its blatantly obvious to me which posters actually know and interact with a spectrum of black people vs those who just watch or hear about them through TV/media.

Why won't either 74 or ommg address the Tawana Brawley hoax?

If black people had discredited Sharpton after his ridiculous actions in that matter, we would have been thru with him 20 years ago.

once again man...the trend is these people are supported. People go to their churches, and give them tons of money.

Jesus. Yes, there are some who speak out, but they are by far the small majority.

Why didn't the black community totally disown Sharpton after the Tawana Brawley fiasco? That was at least 20 years ago.

Not only that, they keep embracing him in his bogus crusades. See the Duke lacrosse case.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...well...

See the problem is you are working from the assumption that blacks support him unless you hear them denouncing him from the rooftops. There are many, many people like me who hate him but just go about my day without publicly speaking or worrying about him.

Well said. What make these folks so hypocritical is that they don't hold themselves to this same ridiculous standard when it comes to ne'er-do-wells in their own community, lest I somehow missed all the anti-Beck, anti-Limbaugh and anti-Hannity threads on this board.

So > 50% of black people go to their churches? Or have donated money? Is there a link to this data?

But just because you are not speaking out against them doesn't mean you support them--thats kind of my point. Do you actually speak out against every single person you disagree with? I think many poster's default view is that if you are black you support them unless you specifically state otherwise. That I do not agree with.

I know one particular black figure who would have no problem getting airtime if he chose to condemn the race baiting actions of people like Al Sharpton.

Why is it that you never deal in specifics, 74?

Are you ignorant of Sharpton's race-baiting in the Tawana Brawley hoax?

Deal in specifics, man. What are you afraid of? The truth?

What, crazy? I was mocking what a mockery these "civil rights tragidies/productions have become. What specifics are you looking for? On another note, what truth can you reveal to me? I'm always looking for the light.

I missed the part where the three people you listed above proclaimed that they were the self-appointed representatives of their race.

Actually their default position is if you don't speak out to condemn the "bad negroes", you must support them, but if you don't speak out to praise the "good negroes", you must oppose them.
