The Justice Department has dispatched an experienced federal hate crimes lawyer to Iowa to help prosecute a man charged with murdering a transgender high school student last year, a highly unusual move that officials said was personally initiated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The Justice Department rarely assigns its lawyers to serve as local prosecutors, and only in cases in which they can provide expertise in areas that the federal government views as significant. By doing so in this instance, Mr. Sessions put the weight of the government behind a small-city murder case with overtones of gender identity and sexuality.

Jeff Sessions is Jekyll and Hyde. And I hate both personalities.

Out of all the things to take the anti-Sessions approach he chooses are crime prosecution? Murder is murder. The end.

Here is GLARING example of why hate crime laws are retarded and unnecessary.

This guy is being tried for murder. Murder is already against the law. If convicted for this murder, this guy will never walk free again, regardless of the hate crime law.

What is the point of tacking on the hate crime label? The tranny is just as dead as every other murder victim, so why is this case special?

Murderers get out all the time don’t they? What’s wrong with keeping a bad guy in a little longer

Unfortunately, I agree. And when I first heard of his nomination I was very excited.

And if this guy isn't found guilty then the JD has this hate crime to fall back on. Isn't that kind of plain?
