Yes, because laws on the books are applied in exactly the same manner in sports... How many actual assault charges will miquel Cabrera face for his role in the melee vs. the Yanks the other day? Now, if he were to be seen doing that exact same thing outside the ballpark, sure, he'd catch a charge...

and, btw, Cabrera got 7 games... he's not facing any criminal charges, much like any other sports person that gets in a fight on the field... they don't face laws the same way that you and i do, outside the field of play, thus negating your entire premise for your fricked up hypothetical...
