There are approximately 130,930 K-12 schools in America. $95.34 billion would be enough to give every single one of them nearly 3/4 of a million dollars to go towards higher security to help protect americas children during school shootings. Bulletproof bookcases that can be wheeled to cover the door and latch in place within seconds is one of the most impactful and helpful things that could be obtained with these funds.

Instead, Senator Kennedy decided to prove that he’s a phony Republican and does not have his constituents front and center.

frick him.

It's not the federal government's job to fund state schools.

I don’t know about you but I consider a school shooter a threat of domestic sorts.

I don't want my tax dollars going to any of this shite.

Schools in this country don't need over $700k per school. Are you fricking kidding me?

Considering it actually does fund schools, this is a horrible post.

Would be amazing if our senators thought of us as highly as they think of Ukrainian citizens.

Then it also should not be the federal governments job to mandate educational standards, curriculum and lbgtq indoctrination.

I am so disappointed in Kennedy.
Contact his office and let him know how you feel.

If you're focusing on the action and not the driver, you're not fixing the issue.

That money would be far better spent on mental health facilities.

You seriously think it's a good idea to spend $728,175 per school on security, on top of whatever they're already spending? That is a very fricked-up, weird, stupid thing to even consider.

ETA I'm 50-50% on whether this is sarcasm. I hope it is, but there are some real wackjobs out there now.
