Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said the Senate Judiciary Committee is "exploring" measures that would block President Trump from appointing an acting attorney general to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the August recess, effectively allowing him to circumvent the need for congressional confirmation.

"We're exploring the ways right now," Durbin said on MSNBC's "The Beat with Ari Melber."

The Illinois senator declined to offer further details when Melber pushed how they plan to prevent any attempt of Trump to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions, adding that he's told Melber "as much as I can tell you at this moment."

If Trump is going to replace sessions, it can't be with someone that was tied to the Trump 2016 campaign. That's how they got sessions to recuse himself.

what does "exploring the way" mean? Either you can or you can't. It's kinda stupid that we all sit around and wait for this to unfold like a soap opera. Either you can block it or you can't. You aren't "exploring" shite.

frick i hate politicians.

Okay, so now Trump and Sessions are stuck with each other?

Rothenstein would of been acting AG if Sessions was to resign

They gave him credibility and distance from Trump for what is coming won't appear as attacking his political enemies.

It's all been a ruse. They certainly didn’t want him. Next they want to keep him. As long as it makes Trump look bad.

How funny is it that you think it's about Jeff Sessions and not Bob Mueller?

Trump felt a need to go through this whole WWE-style charade with Sessions. Get all of these Democrats to publicly support Sessions, so they have no credibility to criticize him when it becomes clear that the DOJ is involved in some serious matters involving prominent Democrats.

Yep... Dems all worried about August recess. Better be worried about bedbugs & bedthugs at Leavenworth.

Trump isn't replacing him.

This was a distraction. Several people are about to go down!

Wait the Democrats publicly support Sessions? I think you are confusing them trying to block a recess appointment with supporting Sessions unless you consider that de facto support?
