The Secret Service is pushing back on President Donald Trump's attorney's remarks Sunday that there was nothing questionable going on at a meeting last summer between Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., a Russian lawyer and top members of Trump's campaign.

"Well, I wonder why the Secret Service, if this was nefarious, why the Secret Service allowed these people in," Jay Sekulow said on ABC's "This Week." "The President had Secret Service protection at that point, and that raised a question with me."

"Donald Trump Jr. was not a protectee of the USSS in June, 2016," the agency told CNN in a statement. "Thus we would not have screened anyone he was meeting with at that time."

That's not "pushback" just clarification of the facts.

Nothing to see here

Can one of you loons just start an "As the Whitehouse burns" mega-thread? I would love to see some pie charts and graphs, and maybe even a daily rumor about the FBI having tapes. I need weekly updates from that FBI agent you go to church also. You know the one who fills you in on everything coming down the pipe. Please make it happen.

Bad news for Trump if his lawyer is missing details that easy to spot.

That's quite a leap you made there from my comment to yours. Hope you stretched out so you didn't pull a muscle.

So does this mean Donald Trump (who WAS a protectee) was clearly NOT a part of this meeting? So the SS is effectively clearing Trump on any claim that he was aware of or a part of this "collusion" meeting?

No. They effectively cleared him that he was not at the meeting. They don't clear what a person does or does not know.

No.

Is negated by this

This part...

is ultimately irrelevant b/c Trump already said he wasn't aware. There is nothing else to go by.

Dumb Dumb Dumb

The constitution of the US clearly defines Treason as making WAR against the United States or providing aid and comfort to an enemy.

We are not at war with any country therefore no one can be brought up on the charge of treason.

Under Article III, Section 3, of the Constitution, any person who levies war against the United States or adheres to its enemies by giving them Aid and Comfort has committed treason within the meaning of the Constitution. The term aid and comfort refers to any act that manifests a betrayal of allegiance to the United States, such as furnishing enemies with arms, troops, transportation, shelter, or classified information. If a subversive act has any tendency to weaken the power of the United States to attack or resist its enemies, aid and comfort has been given.

The Treason Clause applies only to disloyal acts committed during times of war. Acts of dis-loyalty during peacetime are not considered treasonous under the Constitution.

Even the Rosenbergs were only tried for espionage for stealing Atomic Bomb secrets and giving to the Russians.
There has been one charge of Treason since WW2 and it was for a guy who actively did work for terrorist groups(under aid and comfort) of course we are actively fighting them

Certainly being contacted about opposition research on a private club(political party) member does not rise to those levels. Even moreso when the nothing came of the meeting

Espionage, commonly known as spying, is the practice of secretly gathering information about a foreign government or a competing industry, with the purpose of placing one's own government or corporation at some strategic or financial advantage. Federal law prohibits espionage when it jeopardizes the national defense or benefits a foreign nation (18 U.S.C.A. § 793). Criminal espionage involves betraying U.S. government secrets to other nations.

Neither Treason nor Espionage apply.

Well to be fair, Junior said that daddy wasn't aware either. That makes Daddy's statement that much more believable
