Pretty much this.
I don't see 1860's style secession ever happening in this country. However i could by into a scenario where the Fed collapses and several states decide to group and form their own countries. A soviet union style collapse is very possible in this country they way we are currently heading.
It is amusing to entertain Lank's predictions of the *United* States, and *they* would bring down the military (like in Syria, I reckon, where *the military* splits all over the place), and the talk of armadas, and blowin stuff up and such, if States/Regions/Individuals desire to be free from un-Constitutional, and the mob-rule government of Urban populations and what amounts to flat out tyranny.
People are who they are; their beliefs and actions form them and the circumstances in which they either prosper...or fail. The current scenario reflects the polarity of beliefs in regard to action that has formed circumstances that SUCK, in most Urban populations. The voters that put Obama and "spread the wealth arounders" in power. And the folk who have blew it, want them that are responsible, moral and free...to give up their freedom in order to BAIL THEM OUT. Simple as that. All goes in the Collective Kitty. All will be fine. Monty Python IRL.
If there is any shooting, in a breakdown, it will be along the order of that down there on the bridge between the West Bank and the City during Katrina when the local authorities met the looters with a line that they could not cross. Just like in Syria. Territorial lines based on people's beliefs and CHARACTER. That is what unifies and defines Communities, Cities, States and Nations.
And there won't be any military action if States nullify law - JUST LIKE OBAMA does - and pick and choose whether they smoke grass or collect and send tax money to that den-full-of-thieves Washington. Hell....like the House of Reps won't even be in the game. Obama will just order that "armada" down there in Texas, and the soldiers will hop to slicing and dicin their FAMILIES. With the lights out in the White House and New York City.
This board always goes off the rationality wheels sooner or later. And the Libs blame and mock the Right...and then head out the door. It's hard running into the wind.
