That there is an extensive warning label on all helmets. It clearly tells you that this will not protect you from serious injury or death.
IE, NFL players realize the risk. They were not misled by the NFL or by the helmet manufacturer.
There are implications that they were until very recently....Seau played in the NFL for at least a decade before concussions and their cumulative affects were brought to the attention of everyone (including players).
Recently a top rated LB out of UCLA gave up football because of the # of concussions he suffered from - he was aware of the affects of continued play. Would he have made the same decision just 10 years ago?
Would these older and retired players have continued playing the game if they knew?
I'm not aware of the basis of the suit against the NFL, but if it alleges that the NFL knew the dangers and kept them from the players...they have a problem...Helmet company is the real reach here IMV.
