Per Politico legal reporter Josh Gerstein: SCOTUS sets unusual, short-notice opinion release for Monday morning. Appears to signal that ruling on Trump ballot eligibility is looming.

If SCOTUS votes that Trump doesn’t have immunity and the criminal trials continue and if he is found guilty of felonies of any kind before November, what does that mean for the election? Obviously, people might not vote for him, but what if he wins and is awaiting sentencing? Or is already sentenced and he wins? Does he have to vacate? Or, does the sentence get suspended for him to serve as president? I honestly have no idea.

Uncharted waters here, no doubt.
