How is it difficult to socially distance in a beach?

LOL, it's what the majority of people do automatically.

Unless you’re a resident, you’ll get turned away by the checkpoints from 7am-7pm.

Sullivan’s, Folly, and IOP are all restricting access to the islands for non-residents, despite the fact that their roads are paid for by all Charleston County taxpayers. They’ve essentially turned themselves into private islands, which is bullshite.

Even with McMaster lifting restrictions, those cities are keeping them in place. Might have more luck in Myrtle Beach.

Coronavirus isn't the worst thing you'll catch in Dirty Myrtle.

I believe as long as you get there before 7am you can stay all day. At least that's what people are reporting on local radio.

Yup, it’s all horseshite unless they prevent residents from those islands from leaving them as well. And no one should be allowed on. No food delivery of any kind, not even to grocery stores. Either lock it all the way down or not at all. Halfassery solves nothing.

FYI, the virus is not horseshite. It is for real and very likely to hit the over 60 population very hard. But, now people are playing politics with it instead of doing what is best. We needed to lock down to flatten the curve and help keep hospital cases manageable, we have accomplished the goal. Now we need to open back up in a measured way. To this point, the opening back up seems to be working.

On IOP they havent been overly strict about stopp3ong people from coming on. If you make up a "reason" you will likely get through. "Going to pick up my boat at Morgan Creek" or "my daugter works at The Refuge and I am going to pick up togo order" for example. Or just tell them you have some business with Pimp Daddy and you should be good.

Yeah, I’ve heard IOP access isn’t too strict, but I had to deal with a dickhead cop at the checkpoint for Sullivan’s last week when trying to pick up a to-go order. He wanted to see the e-mail receipt from Mex 1 to prove I ordered food. And this was about 15 minutes before 7 pm.

If they want to keep people off the beaches, fine, but keeping these checkpoints in place at this point is just dumb.

Myrtle Beaches are still closed. Neighbors went to surf side beach this past weekend. It’s the only beach I know you can get to if you’re not a resident.

Giving small people a lot of power is never a recipe for success.

It really is ridiculous. Some Karen approached my wife the other day while at the beach with our 4 kids. She had sat down for abt a minute and this dingbat starts harassing her abt the dumbass rule that you can't sit or lay on the beach. I'm glad I wasn't there. My wife has a relatively mild, country girl temprament. I try the best I can to be cordial but shite like that brings out the philly a-hole in me.

Treasure Island has only uber riders in only. no towels, no nothing, no group exercise. Topsail is open with restrictions as well.

So basically whoever lives on the beach and locals. It is silly. They are losing so much money. Also Topsail showing beaches full of seashells.

Disgusting. With all those bodies and that much death, it looks like the beaches at Normandy on D-Day. I'm literally shaking right now.
