I can't view videos on YouTube.
What did they say or do?

Created a center for the fight against extremism. They're also cross training their soldiers in counterterrorism. This is unprecedented and gives me hope for the future. People are finally tired of the shite.

And today the Saudi cleric Muhaysini prayed in Mecca for the defeat of Christians and other minorities in Syria.
Nothing is going to change because the Saudis have free reign, and every country in the MENA (more specifically West Asia) talks out of both sides of their mouth.
If we don't do something about the Saudis, the Hanbalis, the Wahabis, and the Salafis, Islamism will continue to grow especially as Europeans and the West in general reacts against native Islamic populations.
I'm almost resigned to something more horrible happening, where the net effect is that Islamism is completely legitimized. I don't see any way Islamism can be curbed without real effort in reigning the Saudis in.

I'm hopeful that those elements are soon to be isolated and destroyed. It'll take years but it's a step in the right direction.

I could give two shits how many centers they create.
Until they start rounding up and exterminating these bastards it means nothing.

It might be a step but I don't trust the Saudis to do it without a wink and a nod.

Yea right. Saudis are the ones funding the Wahabbi extremism in the first place!
Boko Harem, ISIS, Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood... all Wahhabi groups.

But, but, but......Trump shouldn't be rubbing shoulders with the Saudis.

Well, I do believe that there are some forces alive inside KSA that are trying to break these very old and deep ties between terrorists and the central government. Unfortunately, the ties are so deep at this point, that to do so would severely limit KSA's ability to impose their will across the region. That would almost be like asking Iran to neuter the IRGC-QF. KSA isn't going to do this unless their government is faced with serious consequences for their actions. The US has to take several steps back from their relationship with KSA, and stop selling them weapons and backing their play at every turn. I know people in the US government think we can help mold KSA through actively influencing and "supporting" better policies, but that is flat wrong. They just suck up and redirect our resources and the old guard put them right back into play with the extremists. The majority of people involved in the US relationship with KSA have no real beef with what KSA does throughout the region, because they believe that KSA is an "ally" and that our motivations are similar enough that their actions will be a net benefit to the US in the long term.
Put them on a zero calorie diet.

Even then the Iranians might outperform the Saudis.

I tried to fake a response to that question, but I couldn't make myself do it

Fake honesty. Gotta love it.
Open borders is a really bad idea, losh. But, at least you have the great intellectual of our time, Katy Perry, on your side.

As of now the Saudi's are putting their money where their mouth is. I Think that this is indicative of a fundamental change in how the Saudi's view extremism. They're investing heavily in this and the bar is set so low that any change is historic. No matter what it's a step in the right direction and you have to respect their effort.
