This will drive the liberals even more insane.

quote:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt), who campaigned hard against the Trans-Pacific Partnership in last year’s Democratic presidential primaries, praised President Trump for an executive order to officially pull the United States out of the deal.

“I am glad the Trans-Pacific Partnership is dead and gone,” Sanders said. “For the last 30 years, we have had a series of trade deals – including the North American Free Trade Agreement, permanent normal trade relations with China and others – which have cost us millions of decent-paying jobs and caused a ‘race to the bottom’ which has lowered wages for American workers. Now is the time to develop a new trade policy that helps working families, not just multinational corporations. If President Trump is serious about a new policy to help American workers, then I would be delighted to work with him.”

Well duh. The far left has always been against it, from the beginning. They were the primary opposition.

Sanders and Trump are fairly similar candidates tbh. They just appeal to opposite demographics that ultimately want the same thing

Most of the Liberals I know hated the TPP. It afforded more money to China, which most of them dislike due to their terrible human rights record.

Most of the Conservatives I know also hated the TPP. It took away jobs, and gave our money to China and other Asian nations.

Honestly, I'm not sure WHO liked it, other than corporations who saw Asian markets as a massive boon.

I have thought that in a lot areas, Sanders and Trump are very similar. Trump would be smart to co-opt the Sanders wing of the Democratic party in addition to the centrist Democratic voters.

Who liked it? The biggest domestic contributors to the campaigns of Clinton, Obama, anybody named Bush, etc.

Well much of the logic for some of trade stances is similar to the minimum wage arguments. He might as well join their failed views on all economic issues for consistency purposes.

Yes, but to hear their communist hero give props or be forced to actually give props themselves.

But the socialists and economic progressives are pleased. Should that make you happy?

And in his own statement, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer insisted that “TPP was dead long before President Trump took office.”

Their end games are the same but their means to achieve their ends are vastly different.

Sanders supporters want open borders, free college, universal healthcare, and other freebies.

Trump supporters want secure border and non government healthcare.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

This was the far left's position from the beginning. Glad SOJ supports those socialists and progressives.
