"We have to win over Muslims with our values and ideas"
Ok, that would have been a great moment to lead into about Islam "what values are we trying to get these people to change?" and why?
isn't that hint of arrogance? Worse it's ignorance...
And since Liberals mostly reject Christian values, what values is he really talking about? America's Value of freedom?
This is really a spiritual battle of ideals and values, it can not be won over with Liberal ideology...which keeps moving further away from morally.

What they propose, and I agree, is that the moderate Muslims (and there are many) have to continue to speak out. They also directly address the far left's seeming inability to recognize that Muslim values are at odds with liberal values. If you think that all Muslims want to instill Sharia Law or some Fox-Newsed buzzword, you lose all credibility.

I don't think he ever said anything about "Christian" values. The thing he is talking about is gender equality, free speech, freedom of religion, etc.

People in religion rely on the "holy Text"...for Muslims that's the Quran...
So their values and beliefs are tied to the Quran.

America needs to get involved first by educating people and speaking honestly about the problems within the religion and what they mean for us moving forward. We have far too many people in this country that are willing to adopt a stance based on little to no evidence and carry the battle flag for ignorance. There is a rational, secular way to speak about this topic.

I'll try, but I'm not sure what you're asking. If you are making reference to the violent themes in the Quran, I would argue Christianity's texts are loaded with violence and insane ramblings/pronouncements on a number of issues. The difference is that Christians are no longer waging widespread holy war.
Just as Christianity has moderated over time, so too do I hope that moderate Muslims can rein in the wackjobs over time.

It would benefit us immensely if we could stop those pissed off Muslims from attacking us, don't you think? Maybe changing their views on social issues is a start. It's not impossible when you consider how far Christianity and Judaism have come. We are no longer hunting "witches" ala Salem. They can change too.

I'm not sure how a Muslim, even a moderate one, can look at the spiritually empty West and think that those values represent a step up. While we enjoy tremendous material wealth that is worlds beyond the wildest imagination, there is no satisfying 'answer' or purpose in Western liberal values. Islam has those, even if the implementation of them ends up being shitty.
