That's 4 large landing ships, one cruiser, one submarine, at least 2 missile corvettes, plus numerous patrol boats, minesweepers, etc. and that's just confirmed sunk. Quite a few more have been seriously damaged. Russia can't replace them either, as Turkey doesn't allow any war ships to transit the bosphoros when there is a conflict going. That's more than 20% of the entire fleet gone.

Most of these were destroyed with old cruise missiles or crude naval drones

I don’t think the threat in Russia is their naval fleet

Does this translate into hope and hope translates into convincing Americans to send billions more to Ukraine?

And yet, I feel confident in saying they have multiple subs relatively close to our coast right now, and parked around Europe as well, all of them loaded with nukes and hypersonic missiles that don't even need a warhead to level DC, Paris, London, etc.

But sure, Ukraine is really kicking some arse.

Lots of countries had an impressive Navy at some point in their history:
England
Spain
Portugal
France
America
Japan
But I can't think of a time of Russian domination on the high seas.

Just the boomers, which aren't in the Black Sea anyway.

Drones (air/sea/land) are changing the battlefield

they are cheep and can be launched well behind the front lines, putting the operator at minimal to no risk, and can take out an expensive high tech piece of equipment

militaries of the world are taking note....

I'd be willing to bet that, in actuality, most of these vessels were destroyed by sabotage via Western SOCOM green ops.

This thread isn't remotely political though, and belongs with the towering intellectual Call of Duty keyboard warriors over on the O-T thread.

They thought they had some game until Japan kicked their arse at the Battle of Tsushima. I hear there are some ghosts there.

Meanwhile the Russians dropped a missile on Odessa and missed ole Cargo pants and the PM of Greece by a couple hundred meters.

Im confused though, according to the media, I thought ukraines spring offensive had taken them through Russia and half of Canada by now.

While they brag about taking out a PT boat Russia keeps taking back more of the Motherland. Seems someone has their priorities screwed up....unless its just to show off to get some more money....ah I think I answered my question.

yep, pretty much. Militaries are going to have to develop much better, and more automated anti drone defense systems that are cost effective. Losing a hundred million dollar warship to a dozen drones that cost less than $10k each is just not sustainable for any military
