Russia prolonging Ukraine war

To drain American resources, has to be the only reason this war still going on. Once again Trump is right all American politicians are stupid and Putin is much smarter than all of them.

The welfare state is draining out resources at a much faster pace than these Ukraine funding bills.

No. If you've ever studied Russian military history, you'd know that they absolutely suck at warfare. Always have. Every technological peer that they've ever faced in battle has put wildly disproportionate casualties on them. Russia usually wins, but it's only due to sheer numbers. Let me get this straight:
A country with a GDP of $4 trillion is deliberately prolonging an attritional conflict against an economic block with a GDP of $60 trillion in the hopes that he will break them economically?
So he's spending 8% of his GDP annually to prosecute a war that he could easily win if he wanted to....and the combined support from the western block he's up against equals about .3% of their GDP. But it's in his best interest to keep playing this 4D poker game?

Yeah, Russia has also had a million people leave the country and about half of those were young men avoiding the draft. They're getting short of laborers. I don't think Putin wanted or expected a 3 year long war. It's not good economics.

You state "no longer having meat" but forget that UKR has even worse demographics article. Ukraine is dealing with an even worse situation amongst its fight population than Russia.
